For the first time since the Oslo agreement, a dramatic change appears to be taking place in theِِ ِِArab region attitude towards Israel occupation. Since the 1948 war, Arabs had held hostility to the Zionist entity. Today, Arab leaders and others in the region no longer consider Israel as an enemy and even seeks ways to cooperate with It against threats.

Arab thinkers call to normalize relations with Israel

Boycotting Israel is a failure and has only helped that country while damaging Arab nations that have shunned the Jewish state, according to a small new group of liberal-minded Arab thinkers from across the Middle East who are pushing to engage with Israel” The New York Times reported.

In fact, one shall not be surprised by these statements declared by Arab thinkers since their leaders preceded them in establishing relationships with Israel occupation. For several years, ties between Israel and some Arab countries have been developing in the shadow.

Many well-known Arab figures insist on showing their acceptance for Israel's policy and even encouraging normalization with It either. For instance, the tweet of Emirati FM in the New York Times urging Palestinians not to reject Trump’s plan. Furthermore, the report published in a major Israel newspaper by prince Turki calling for peace between Israel and the Gulf countries.

Israel allies in the Middle East

However, most Arab states deny any relationships with Israel, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself has revealed that his country maintains unofficial ties with a broad range of Arab states. These states include Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Oman, Morocco, Bahrain, and Sudden.

No doubt that Saudi Arabia comes in the first place as the leader among Arab states normalized with Israel; the Saudi crown prince Mohammed Bin Salman has no shame of showing his loyalty to Israel's occupation. He has previously stated in an interview that Israeli are entitled to live peacefully on their own lands.

Coupled with Saudi Arabia, Egypt is currently witnessing a major change in Its relationships with Israel. These ties became closer since the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Elsisi took the chair; in fact, any attempt to topple him down is Israel's biggest fear.

Iran: enemy of my enemy is my friend

Everyone agrees that Iran plays a key role in the Arab conflict region; It has Its enemies and allies. Saudi Arabia, U.S.A, and Israel occupation consider Iran as the ghost which threatens Its interests in the Middle East; on the other hand, countries as Syria, Lebanon, and Kuwait are considered as Iran’s best allies.

Iran either supports Hamas in the Gaza strip financially and militarily in order to have enough power to fight Israel's occupation. Also, Iran has supplied weapons, money, and training to the Houthis in Yemen against Saudi Arabia.

Due to the tense relations among these countries, Saudi Arabia with the cooperation of the U.S.A and Israel has been banding together to roll back Iranian expansionism. So, the above-mentioned facts apply the proverb” the enemy of my enemy is my friend” well.

In conclusion, It is essential to clarify that Arab leaders shall be united together against any foreign threat, not against each other. They have to return people's dignity back and restore the glory era of Arabs.
